一位教授快要結婚，他到珠寶店為他的未婚妻訂製一隻結婚戒指。珠寶店的老闆告訴教授，只要多花二十塊，就可在戒指上刻上名字。教授聽了後皺起眉：「這豈不是減低了戒指的轉售價值！」

珠寶店的老闆聽到教授的反應，忍不住要得罪：「虧你這話也說得出口，看來你是個涼薄的屠夫。」

「不是呀！」教授說「我是個經濟學家。」
